Nothing much to say here, but that we have finally decided on a suitable
shaft seal. Its an Axiseal from Amartech
which has body made of stainless steel duplex 1.4462 with sealing surfaces
made of silicon carbide (as opposed to carbon used by other manufacturers
- carbon particles corrodes aluminium). Its seems to be a good stuff,
solid build, time will show. Being in a shopping mood we also used amartech
for delivery of a dublex 4462 35mm propeller shaft, amarflex flexible
coupling and easyturn rubber bearings (a).
