Hull - Welding - Aluminium Welding - ESAB AristoMIG 400 (last update: 12/10/05)

ESAB AristoMIG 400 welding machine with Aristo30 wire feeder, MA6 controler and ESAB own (DIY) 10 meter long push-pull welding gun is the core of the welding facility in Joohee Everywhere Fortune.
When we bought this digital and latest miracle model it was on the market for a few months and top of the range. Within few months ESAB came with U400 version with TIG facility and frequency modulation of the pulse which really does make TIG like looking MIG welds. Never mind, Ladislav could do the same without modulation :). The power supply is rather good and without giving any trouble. The wire-feeder gives no problem either. The wire enclosure is rather bad for what it costs, its DIY version where a lot of effort was made to make it dust-proof.
However, the ESAB original push-pull welding gun was a real DIY. It was leaking from the day one and a lot of work was done on improving the design itself - believe it or not! At the end, after replacing bits a pieces here and there, such as replacing the original pulleys which were totally unsuitable (originally the pulleys were supplied for tube welding rods which constantly shed a small pieces of Alu into the welding tip to clutter it and spark it) and replacing all O-rings it works just fine and we are happy with it. Apparently in the US ESAB offers Python from MK products as the OEM push pull system. A thing to look at if you like ESAB welders for one reason or another (we like it for its service nearby and, it actually does weld aluminium very well - just would expect it to be more than perfect for what it costs).
